Model 02032C Rain Gauge is not sending to the monitor and has a triangle with exclaimation mark what do I do to fix?

Our rain gauge stopped sending info to our monitor so I took the weather station down, cleaned it and replaced the batteries.  While I was cleaning it the monitor registered 5.60 inches of rain so it sent a signal during the process.  Now I am trying to calibrate it and there is no rainfall registering on the monitor and the rainfall box shows a triangle with an exclamation mark (much like the problem icon on this forum) but I can't find any explanation of what that means and how to resolve it.  The troubleshooting section of the manual is not helpful in that regard.  Please note that I have done everything you usually recommend so this issue is beyond using correct batteries, etc.

Also please be aware that the tipping buckets are working properly.

There are several different "warning" indicators on that display.  That one sounds like the "heavy rainfall warning.  (pages 4 and 5 of the manual)  It seems consistent with what you're describing.

It might be possible that you knocked the long plastic rectangular "tube" that holds the reed switch over the tipping bucket magnet out-of-alignment.  You should check that it is seated properly over the magnet.

It just started working again!  I reset the monitor and started the calibration test over and it registered this time.  Go figure!  It's now back up on our 17' pole so hopefully I don't have to get it down again for a while.
