Display Rain Gauge Reading. I thought that the display held that day's rain amount for more than a few hours. I would like to have seen the amount for over night and not have it go to the accumulation amount not knowing what it was. Is there anything I can do? I seem to have it all set up correctly. We have had this unit for months and was working fine until recently. I thought??

Hello Lori,

This unit measures in Rainfall Event.  A rainfall event clears when no rain registers for 8 hours OR no rain registers for 1 hour and pressure rises by .03inhg or more. You cannot change how the display shows rain.  Please let us know if you have any other questions.  Thank you and have a great day!

Yes.  That "rain event" reset can drive you nuts, especially if the barometer rises quickly after the rain stops.

Acurite does have some displays that reset at midnight instead of using "rain events".  I believe one is the 2064c display.  It resets and midnight (like wunderground).  That is a lot easier to explain to others than "rain events".

This stinks....if I look at my 1512rx it shows 2.25 inches so far for the day. Yet all of a sudden at 6pm even though it is still raining and has been raining all day, it appears to have started recording amounts all over again instead of accumulating for a 24hr period so you can report to Wunderground the total amount. So even though a few hrs ago Wunderground showed 2.0 inches of rain, it now is showing .25 instead of 2.25!

We want to know the total rain in a 24 hour period - don't care how many events during that 24 hours.
