Brand new 3-in-1 Weather Station Model 00638A3 with brand new Duracell Copper top Batteries.  Purchased 10/23/17 from Amazon.  Monitor showing Low Battery.  I reset the monitor and also removed batteries from both sensor and monitor.  Still indicating low battery. Registered Unit on your website.  Email address is *******REMOVED BY ADMIN FOR PRIVACY*******

  • Frustrated that it is a brand new unit with low battery indicator and trouble shooting did not work. Also spent over 30 minutes on hold to reach a support person. Finally had to hang up.

Hello Janet,

We are sorry to hear of your frustration but are happy to assist you.  We understand you have done troubleshooting and it sounds like you have done the reset steps listed below however, we need to make sure the steps are done in order and all troubleshooting has been exhausted. Please verify your Duracell batteries follow the guidelines listed below and try the troubleshooting. After if the issue continues, we are happy to start warranty. Thank you.

Batteries:

•Verify you are using fresh alkaline batteries or lithium batteries (when temperature is below -4°F/-20°C) in sensor.

•Quality brand batteries are recommended, including Duracell, Rayovac, Energizer, or Kirkland.

•Verify batteries are fresh. The battery expiration date should be at least 6 years out. Batteries can lose 3% power or more every year in storage.

•Heavy duty, extra strength or generic / store brand batteries are not recommended for use with AcuRite products because they may cause performance irregularities due to the way these types of batteries disperse power. Each battery should not exceed 1.6 volts.

•Rechargeable batteries are not recommended for use with AcuRite products because they may cause performance irregularities due to the voltage instability of these types of batteries.

•Mixing different battery types (brands, old/new, etc.) is not recommended.

Hard reset:

- Bring both units side by side and remove all batteries, unplug display if it has an ac adapter

- Change the ABC Switch to a different setting and ensure that both are on the same setting. example - If on A, move both to C

- Place batteries into the outdoor sensor first

- Place batteries into display

- Allow units to sit side by side until they connect.

I tried your suggestions for a hard reset.  I had already tried it before and it did not work.  I need to begin the warranty process.
