I have display model #06058. Will I lose all my records by simply unplugging the display from the power source in order to move it to another location or will I only lose the records if I perform a factory reset?

Hello Dennis,

You will lose the records if you do not have the battery backup installed in the display unit.  We would recommend checking the batteries to ensure you will not lose your data. Our battery recommendations are listed below.  Thank you and have a great day!

Batteries:
•Verify you are using fresh alkaline batteries or lithium batteries (when temperature is below -4oF/-20oC) in sensor.
•Quality brand batteries are recommended, including Duracell, Rayovac, Energizer, or Kirkland.
•Verify batteries are fresh. The battery expiration date should be at least 6 years out. Batteries can lose 3% power or more every year in storage.
•Heavy duty, extra strength or generic / store brand batteries are not recommended for use with AcuRite products because they may cause performance irregularities due to the way these types of batteries disperse power. Each battery should not exceed 1.6 volts.
•Rechargeable batteries are not recommended for use with AcuRite products because they may cause performance irregularities due to the voltage instability of these types of batteries.
•Mixing different battery types (brands, old/new, etc.) is not recommended.

Rachell...Thank you for your reply. There is no battery compartment on this display (model #06058). So, I am out of luck on saving my records if I decide to unplug the display or if there is a power failure. Too bad. This is a new model you guys just released and I really enjoy its functionality. I am surprised the battery backup was not designed into it. I guess I need to get myself a portable battery backup. Anyway, thanks again and enjoy your day.
