liquid and soil temp probe 6011RM

Just purchased with outside unit it plugs into.   Both temps read on my dashboard. I calibrated the out side unit but the soil sensor reads 42d F no matter what I do. Right now it is in a glass of ice water and I am trying to get it to read 32d F. Calibration is set at -10 and it still reads 42.
 Any suggestions?

cal at 0  reading went back to 42d F.    2 things    it seems like it takes a while for calibration to take effect. Upload to host and back on a XX time frame?    and would the calibration be in centigrade  equiv   would be - 5.5     I will try that and wait.

so it is calibrated at 32 F   Then I took it out of the ice water and let it warm up to room temp   71 F
It only reached 62F.  I could calibrate for that but then the 32 would be off. I could split the difference but then both would be off 5 D     one high and one low.    What is the point of that.   The question is what is going on?

Hello Bob,

Are you referring to a calibration on a display or My AcuRite? The calibrations on My AcuRite can take up to 20 minutes to update. Please let us know what you are trying to do so we can assist you with this. Thank you.

Read on My Acurite.  I have been watching it for 2 hours. I changed the calibration an hour ago to +10 to try and get the soil probe read , 61d ,  out to match the readout of the transmitter unit it plugs into which is at 71 d. no change.    IT as responding yesterday when the soil probe was in ice water.

Hello Bob,

I am doing some testing on your account currently. I removed the calibration to see if I could get the reading to update other than the 61 degrees.  I will continue to monitor this through out the day. Thank you.

Hello Bob,

When I took off the calibration the regular reading read 72 degrees. If I apply the calibration again of 10 it will take it to the 82 degrees which it did with the reading. Please try this on your end and let us know if you continue to have the issue. To get the calibration to update quicker than the 20 minutes, you can go in and adjust the zip code. Change it from whatever you have it set as. Example would be the zip code reads 12212 go into your devices profile and change it to 53147 and save it.  You can go back in and change the zip code back to the correct zip code. Give it about 5-10 minutes and you should see the readings update.

I have tried to sneak in the calibration  now at -2 and reading 69 on acurite.  73 on sensor next to it.
the zip code change helps it show updates faster.   I will leave it like this overnight and see.   It is frustrating to see such wide swings in the response to calibration

Hello Bob,

Thank you for your feedback regarding this. The zip code change will push the readings faster. It is something we will pass along to our development team as a suggestion to update in the future.
