Keeps Scanning For Non Existent Sensors

I have only one sensor, but the unit keeps scanning for three and sticking on sensor three, when the only sensor I have is on channel one. How do you stop the unit from scanning for other sensors. Also I cannot get the Atomic clock to sync up. And with the skimpy instructions I can't figure out how to change the year and date. When I press the date button on the rear, nothing happens...even if I hold it down for a few seconds.

Cappie I don't know the unit but looking at the manual do you have the auto scroll turned on?  As far as setting the year   see step 2 of manually setting for time    https://www.acurite.com/media/manuals/00754new.pdf

Hello Cappie,
Are you using model 00754 that is tagged to the forum post?  This model does not have an Atomic clock.  If your display is picking up a different sensor then your own, please change the ABC channel in the display and sensor.  I have provided the directions below. Please let us know if we misunderstood or if you have any other questions. Thank you.

Batteries:

•Verify you are using fresh alkaline batteries or lithium batteries (when temperature is below -4°F/-20°C) in sensor.

•Quality brand batteries are recommended, including Duracell, Rayovac, Energizer, or Kirkland.

•Verify batteries are fresh. The battery expiration date should be at least 6 years out. Batteries can lose 3% power or more every year in storage.

•Heavy duty, extra strength or generic / store brand batteries are not recommended for use with AcuRite products because they may cause performance irregularities due to the way these types of batteries disperse power. Each battery should not exceed 1.6 volts.

•Rechargeable batteries are not recommended for use with AcuRite products because they may cause performance irregularities due to the voltage instability of these types of batteries.

•Mixing different battery types (brands, old/new, etc.) is not recommended.

Hard reset:
- Bring both units side by side and remove all batteries, unplug display if it has an ac adapter
- Change the ABC Switch to a different setting and ensure that both are on the same setting. example - If on A, move both to C
- Place batteries into the outdoor sensor first
- Place batteries into display
- Allow units to sit side by side until they connect.
