Is there a way to test the accuracy of your analog refrigerator thermometer?

I have one of your simple, analog, dial-type refrigerator thermometers (similar to model 00610). Based on using some other types of thermometers, I'm questioning how accurate it is.

Is there a way I can test to see how accurate it is? I've heard about submerging it in ice water to see if it reads 32 degrees. What tests do you recommend?

Thanks in advance.

Hello AP1,

When comparing readings you would want the other unit you are comparing it to right next to the thermometer. You want to leave them sit there for at least 30 minutes without touching them. They should read within +/- 3 degrees of each other.  We would recommend taking them out of the refrigerator to run this test.  If you do this we would recommend letting them sit for 1 hour to acclimate to the conditions. Thank you.
