Incorrect Time and Date Display

Hi,
Before purchasing my 02027, I researched your support pages and found that the 02027 and 02027A1 are supposed to be the same unit. See:
https://support.acurite.com/acurite/topics/what-is-the-difference-between-02074di-02077rm-02022wb-02...
Which says: The 02074DI and the 02077RM are the same unit.  Many of our products have different model numbers for different retailers.  The 02022WB, 02027 and the 02027A1 are the same unit as well.  You can compare these two models through the photo below.  If you have any other questions, please let us know.

So based on your statement above, I purchased model 02027, only to find that apparently they are definitely NOT the same unit.

I cannot set the Time for Western Standard Time (WST) for Australia !!!
I cannot set the Date display as per normal - ie Day first, then Month, then Year !!!
It apparently only displays backwards (ie month first) which is not correct for the rest of the world (ONLY the USA).

Could you please indicate how to change these settings?
Or how to update the software?
Or how to change the unit for one suitable for Australia (although you would think it would be manufactured for world usage)?

Kind Regards
Brian

Hello Brian,

Where did you purchase the product at? The 02074 and 02027 would not have the Australian time zones programmed in them. There would be specific model numbers for this that would not be sold on our site. You would purchase these from your local retailers if they are available. There is no way to adjust this to make it display in the Australian settings, and no way to update the firmware. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Hi Jennifer,
Unfortunately we cannot get Acurite in Australia. I tried to purchase one from retailbargainwarehouse on ebay, but they failed to send it and I had to claim the payment back from paypal.
Then I saw that Amazon was selling the 02074, so I looked at your support.acurite.com Website and was informed that they were the same item. Consequently, I purchased the item from Amazon based on information supplied by Acurite.

Now I am stuck with something that doesn't have the right time zone (although it can be adjusted), doesn't display the date correctly, and then I discovered that the moon is either back to front or upside down - not sure which. In any case, it hasn't been a good purchase experience.

Why don't you (Acurite) make one set of software that is compatible around the world. Everyone else appears to be able to do it - why not Acurite? Maybe a suggestion to the designers?   :-)

So, since I have the box which is intact, is there any way I can send it on to you and get the Australian version posted back to me? Is that possible?

Kind Regards,

Brian Sten

Hello Brian,
We are very sorry for the inconvenience you have experienced.  We do sell AcuRite in Costco in Australia.  The products sold there are designed to be used in Australia.  Unfortunately, we are not able to provide warranty coverage for products that are not purchased in the region they are designed. At this time, we would recommend contacting Amazon regarding the weather station.

Hi,
Unfortunately I live in Perth (Western Australia) and there is no Costco in Perth (or even in Western Australia), so no-one sells AcuRite products in Perth.

Costco in Sydney is 4,000 km away, so there is absolutely no advertising for Costco in Perth. So even if you sell your product in Costco, I would not even be aware of it. In fact, I didn't even know that Costco had opened in Australia (but not yet in Western Australia).

As I previously mentioned, if your product was designed for International use, it wouldn't need multiple versions for every country in the world and all this angst. Suggestion for your Designers.

AcuRite really needs to get its act into gear.

I'll try Amazon, but I'm not expecting them to take the product back once sold. After all, it was AruRite that said on its Website that the 02027 was the same unit as 02027A1 and therefore AruRite should take some responsibility for recommending the wrong product.

Regards,
Brian

Hello Brian,
We are very sorry for the inconvenience you have experienced.  We will certainly take your feedback into consideration for future development.  02027 and 02027A1 are the same unit.  Neither are designed to work in Australia.  We do not sell this model in Australia so it is not going to be designed to function properly in Australia.  We are always looking to expand, hopefully in the future AcuRite products will be available to you.
