Incorrect forecast

I bought model 02099 Weather Station approximately 8 weeks ago and it has failed to predict snow/freezing rain twice in the last one week. For example it is showing sunny in forecast in Toronto, Canada, with outdoor temp -6 deg C, outdoor humidity 92%, dew point -7 deg C. AND it is snowing outside. Wondering what is not right with the predictive algorithm?? Thanks.

I reset the unit and now it is showing same readings but sun with clouds, no precipitation yet though.

When it comes to the forecast, it shows a forecast icon for the next 12-24 hours and not your current conditions. Forecasts typically get generated from data received from airports and they forecast a large area and not your backyard. The forecast should become more accurate as time progresses and is for your backyard, not a large area. The learning mode is for 14 days to determine your exact altitude, but it continues learning beyond 14 days. Appropriate sensor placement is very important for the forecast. The default forecast icon when you reset the unit is the sun with clouds icon as you described, which will not be accurate since you just reset it. Here is a page from the manual of your model regarding the forecasting:

Hello John,
The information given above is correct.  If you are not showing accurate forecasting we would recommend resetting the display and going through the full 14-33 day learning mode.  Please let us know if the display continues to show inaccurate forecasting after the 33 days are complete. Thank you.
