I'm wondering how to reset the unit to get an accurate humidity reading.

Jeremy the sensor could have gone bad or its just stuck / confused a hard reset may get you working again.  Start with the sensor and remove the batteries for like 5 minutes and then reinsert and see if that does it. You did not say if you were just using a display or if you had a smarthub / access so I'm guessing just a display. You may need to move the ABC switch in the display in order to get it to search for your sensor to see if it cleared. If still having problems then I would do he same thing with the display remove all power for about 5 minutes and then restart, you will lose all info on the display when doing this that's why I started with the sensor first but you could do both at same time if you want, just power up the sensor first this startup order matters. good luck.
