Inaccurate forecast

I have older version of what seems to be model #02007 (can't find model # on the unit). The main issue relates to the geographic regions, which are FAR too broad to give accurate forecast. I'm ready to replace my current station with a new one, but need to know if newer AcuRite weather stations have more precise regions, for more accurate forecasts?

Suggest you reset the unit back to factory defaults.  Reset the GEO region and let it learn again for the next 2-4 weeks.  Then see.  I have the same unit.  Appears to work fine for me.

Hello Joan,

Our newer models don't do the precision forecasting, they do what we call a future forecasting. As of right now I believe the 02007 is the only one left that does the precision forecasting.  It will be what the conditions are forecasted to be within the next 12-24 hours.  It uses a learning mode algorithm that begins with the global pressure of 29.92. It then takes 4,00 readings at 12-minute increments to calculate a running average and computer the barometric pressure for your exact location. The pressure accuracy will increase with new readings over the 14 day learning mode so you may see inaccurate readings until the learning mode is complete. The learning mode does go for a total of 33 days however, you should see accurate readings once the learning mode icon disappears which is after 14 days.

The precision forecasting is weather observations collected in your backyard to generate a localized short-term forecast. It is the probability of precipitation, amount of cloud cover as well as maximum/minimum temperatures. It combines a region specific (Geo-Zone) forecasting algorithm with current weather observations taken from your AcuRite sensor to develop a specific future forecast. You select the correct Geo Zone based off the 7 regions on the map and you will get the short term forecasting.

I have attached a link to the basic weather stations that have the forecasting on them.
