Inaccurate data showing

Good morning,

My wife purchased an Acurite 01036 weather station for me for Christmas and
I am having a few issues with the output to the Mybackyard website. For
instance, it is showing a max wind speed of 527MPH being registered,
It is showing a 74.09 Barometric Pressure reading, It is showing a 161 temp reading.

None of these items are showing on my actual display panel but are only
showing up online at both the mybackyard weather site as well as
Weatherunderground. I have also been getting false rain readings when it
has not rained. I have the sensor bolted to a steel pipe outside and there
is absolutely no movement on it at all. I have also uninstalled, cleared
the registry and reinstalled the PCConnect software several times.

Rain data from weather underground shows a .23 and then a .46 rain event
but it was not raining at the time. So I did clear the info and restarted
the system. In reality we received .99 inches
of rain but the system online and the report to weatherunderground showed
1.55 inches.

I am wondering what you think might be causing this and what I might have
missed.

Hi Phillip,

The following instructions should help resolve any issues you are having with your display.

To do a factory reset: (THIS WILL CLEAR ALL OF YOUR HISTORY AND YOUR SETTINGS)

Please verify that you are using a name brand (Rayovac or Energizer) standard alkaline batteries in the display unit. We do not recommend using anything that is heavy duty, rechargeable, store brand or Lithium inside of the display.

- Remove all power, AC adapter and batteries, from the display unit.
- Inside the batter compartment there should be a white sticker with four numbers on it, please let us know what those numbers are.
- Press and hold down the pin hole reset button, located in the battery compartment, for 20 seconds.
- Plug back into AC power and insert recommended batteries.
- Press and hold down the pin hole reset button for an additional 15 seconds.
- Verify that the unit has powered on and once connection has been made, attempt to set time date, and alarms.

If this does not resolve the problem, please let us know so that we can work to get this resolved.
