The ABC switch selects the channel that your device (rain gauge in this case) uses to send data to your display console. The device switch setting much match the display switch setting for the display to recognize the device.

"3. There is a channel switch on both units right above the batteries. Make sure the A-B-C switch on both units match. Sometimes changing to a different channel can help."

Hi Bob,

As Robert has mentioned, this is just an ID switch that allows the display and outdoor collector to connect. You will just want to make sure that they are on the same setting to ensure that they are able to communicate.

I have an AcuRite Weather Forecaster Model 75077A3. Regarding the ABC switch, how do you knw whether to select A, B, or C?

Anne,

There's no specific channel your suppose it use, Pick a channel and go with it, IF your experience communication issues then you can try a different channel.

Thank you, Dan; I'm very appreciative of getting your answer.  I want to set everything up myself with no help - except, of course, from you.
