I'm actually starting to enjoy bad customer service

33 minutes on hold. Tier 1 picks up and in seconds decides it's a Tier 2 issue. "won't be long." After 5 more minutes of looped on hold jingles, system drops the call. SAME AS LAST YEAR. Not good...

Now, then... My ProPlus fan on the outdoor unit is making noise as if the motor is going bad. There is no debris... Anyone got any idea how to get a replacement? (My third in 2 years!)

Hello Steve,

We are sorry to hear you were having an issue getting a hold of us.  There should be a slight hum coming from the weather station. If you are getting more than a slight hum it could be a bearing in the wind cup assembly. We would recommend using a lubricant on it to see if that corrects the issue. Some people use WD40. You wan to make sure you do not get it inside the sensor.  When was the weather station originally purchased, and who did you purchase it from?

It makes noise when there is no wind. Just sun so it's the fan motor. The station was bought direct from Acu-Rite. The top of the station was sent as a warranty replacement already, less than a year ago. Case 00483265. I had to send back the unit and it was replaced, sans screws, after two months of email and support exchanges...

Hello Steve,
You are correct, the fan will make noise even if there is not wind.  The fan is always going to have a humming noise.  If the noise is more than a hum then the we would recommend replacing the wind cup assembly. Per your previous case I can see the sensor is out of the one year warranty and would need to be purchased. The one year warranty does go from the original purchase date. For your convenience, I have provided a link below to the product. Please let us know if you have any other questions. Thank you.
