I was accessing the device section in myacurite and noticed another available 5-in-1. I also checked my smartHUB via the IP address and noticed that the smartHUB doesn't see this device. I did add the device to myacurite but after adding it I see no additional data. I always thought that the smartHUB was what detected devices. If the smartHUB doesn't show the device via the smartHUB page, why does my device page in the myacurite site show that a device is available?

Probably a neighbor's sensor.  I've got a neighbor who put up a temp/humidity tower that I pick up along with my own 3 sensors.  Since it doesn't hurt anything, I just added him to my list of sensors.

Harold I would have guessed the same thing since I'm already picking up another neighbors 5-in-1.  But I saw that one on the SmartHUB's IP page and then went to devices on myacurite to add it in to my dashboard.  In this case however I don't see any additional 5-in-1 units on the SmartHUB's IP page, yet I see on the myacurite device page that there is another 5-in-1 available to add.

I can add it but as I noted there is no data which would make sense if the SmartHUB doesn't show the device on it's IP page.  Could it have been a momentary reception of another 5-in-1 in the area by the SmartHUB, then loss of the signal, but the servers that support the myacurite page were slow in removing that recognition from the device page?  I wonder what the refresh cycle is on updating the available device info is?

I just checked and it is no longer showing as an available device on the myacurite site.  I checked the IP page for the hub and it isn't showing there.

Just a little more info.  The 5-in-1 was added earlier today.  Signal level is poor, but I am getting data to now show this 3rd 5-in-1 on my dashboard.  Question now lies in why the IP display site for my SmartHUB is not showing 3, 5-in-1's even though my dashboard is showing 3.  I need to do a little exploring to find out where this 3rd unit is.

Hello Jack,

The splash page will show any sensor that the smartHUB has detected since the last power up. If at any time it detected a neighbors sensor or you had another 5n1 connected it will show on the splash page.  If you power cycle the smartHUB you will probably see the sensor disappear.

Jennifer, just to understand what screen are you defining as the "splash page"?  Are you speaking about the MyAcurite page after clicking the device tab?  If so and I added the neighbor's 5-in-1, and it was updating and current, why could I view it actively on my dashboard, yet the smartHub didn't show it on it's IP page?  Is it possible that the connectivity is so sporadic that it just not pass the criteria required to display on the smartHUB's IP page?

Interestingly enough I've lost connectivity with that 5-in-1 this weekend.  Probably because the leaves have come out on the trees in the last few days and what was a very marginal signal is now to weak to receive.  Was fun at the time to have 3, 5-in-1's showing on my dashboard.  One being mine.

Hello Jack,

I am referring to the smartHUBS IP page as the splash page. If you added the neighbors sensor but do not see it on the splash page, you may need to close completely out of it and go back in to see if it is there. It should show then. The splash page will show any sensor it has detected since it was last powered up.

Thanks Jennifer.  In my case the 5-in-1 that I had added to my dashboard was not showing in the splash page.  I did shut the splash page down and then restarted it but the 5-in-1 never showed there even though the station was actively reporting data.

That's what was so perplexing to me as to how the device section of MyAcurite showed it available to be added which I did, but no indication of the 5-in-1 on my splash page.   Sort of freaky but really at this is a moot point since as of last night the indicator on my dashboard went red on the station and I deleted it from the device section.

Hello Jack,

I apologize you need to power cycle the smartHUB, and then go back into the splash page. Once that is done the sensor will show up. It will show the sensors it has detected since the last power cycle. Thank you.
