I have an 01536 and I can not get the light to stay on. I am an electricain and this is my final try. It is plugged in and the batteries are all new. I have reset it everyday this week and nothing happens. The light button is worthless than tits on a bore hog. What can I do?

Hello PJ Thom,

If the backlight will not stay on we would recommend the following troubleshooting steps.  It is what we call a factory reset on the display.

To do a factory reset: (THIS WILL CLEAR ALL OF YOUR HISTORY AND YOUR SETTINGS)

Please verify that you are using a name brand (Rayovac or Energizer) standardalkaline batteries in the display unit. We do not recommend using anything thatis heavy duty, rechargeable, store brand or Lithium inside of the display.

- Remove all power, AC adapter and batteries, from the display unit.
- Press and hold down the pin hole reset button, located in the batterycompartment, for 20 seconds.
- Plug back into AC power and insert recommended batteries.
- Press and hold down the pin hole reset button for an additional 20seconds.
- Verify that the unit has powered on and once connection has been made, attempt to set time and date.

When you plug everything back in make sure the adapter is plugged snug into the back of the display. You are able to disable the backlight if you press the lightbulb icon for 5 seconds. Make sure you are not disabling the backlight on the display.  If you press the backlight button again after disabling it then it should return to the selected setting before it was disabled.
