First I bought 1 of the 09150M smartHUBS a little over a year ago and I liked it SO MUCH I bought another one 1 1/2 months  later!!!  This STINKS because now in 6 months they are HOCKEY PUCKS and I DONT play hockey!!! I really like the AcuRite products - they are accurate and reliable but NOW the company has just made me reconsider what im going to do in 6 months.

Major disappointment - Im not going to buy 2 NEW HUBS when they ARE NEW right now.

Im not happy

I will say though that the new Access is much more reliable than the hub ever was for me.  With the battery backup I don't have to worry about restarting the unit as I did with the hub so many times.  We have lost power a couple times since getting the Access and it never lost a beat.  After getting flooded by Harvey here in Houston, I'm more concerned with reliability and knowing what kind of rainfall I'm getting at my home when I'm away.

Thanks for the reply - any idea Who I can contact - appears the numbers may or may not work and honestly Im not so sure I want to PONY up MORE MONEY for a product that is relatively new - ACURITE should be providing FREE HUBS since THEY  are the ones making these changes - CURRENT customers should be taken care of - They certainly took care of the NEW HUB when their UPGRADE FIRMWARE patch rendered the HUB useless - this is essentially what they are doing to my working HUBS right now - I have 2 of these HUBS with many wireless sensors - this is INSANE!!!!!!!

There have been some reliability issues with the smart Hub, if you contact Acurite promptly they will issue you a sizable credit towards the new access. will need mac addresses of Hubs

not quite. this has new functionality and many products over their lifetime are replaced with nextgen products that must be purchased.

i had one large customer years ago that wanted a free product upgrade that had new functionality. I told them: we decide on the various products, functionality in each and price of each; they had the choice to purchase the new product or not. Given the enhancements and not wanting to lag behind their other large competitors, they purchased.

you have same option but if you have working hub (s) that are reporting to MyAcurite.com, I would encourage getting the discount coupon (s) to significantly lower your upgrade costs.

No one likes when technology changes and you need to purchase replacements.  You can get significant discounts as mentioned above for the Access hub.  I owned my SH for a few years and had issues with it.  Someone mentioned that the SH has been around for 7 years and from my perspective really needed an update.  The new Access unit resolves many of the issues I had with the SH and I think it is a better product.   But my opinion.

best to contact Acurite via website or any means stated on website. Many that had operational SH, MyAcurite.com accounts were sent emails. I did not do anything for coupon.

i had a friend that finally got his Hub running and called into Support 2-3 weeks ago and immediately purchased Access with Discount code. So I know the phone route work for him (Central US).

Hello Important Email,

We are ending service on the smartHUB starting February 28,2019 however, we are confident that you will be thrilled with the upgraded features of the new AcuRite Access. We do encourage you to take advantage of the limited time promotional offer. The list price for the Access is $129.99, with the discount offer we are offering a 90 dollar savings which will essentially be a full price credit for the cost of the HUB you recently purchased. The smartHUB will no longer be sold or supported however, My AcuRite online monitoring will continue. You can request your upgrade code at the link below. We are happy to answer any questions you may have either here or the AcuRite Loyalty Team can be reached at 262-729-4850.

I've requested a code several times for my second one and have yet to get a response.  Called the "loyalty line" and leave my number for call back in "20 min" only to be called back hours later when I'm on another call because I planned my schedule around the call back.  Can't say I'm too impressed.

I have an order pending right now that is supposed to arrive tomorrow and it hasn't even shipped yet even though I specifically paid for USPS 2-day priority because it's a gift and I'm only at the delivery location for a couple days.  Looks like I need to cancel that too now.

I'm shocked that AcuRite would downgrade the amount of devices supported from 10 to 7. They must have known this would be upsetting to customers who are running 8+ devices on a SmartHub but choose to do it anyway. As a former software engineer, I doubt there is any actual system limitation here. This was a conscious choice; but why? Maybe it saves them bandwidth on their servers?

I have two SmartHubs, in two locations, each tracking 9 sensors. I was planning to get 1 additional sensor for each location. Now, I'll have to pick 4 sensors to disconnect.

Extremely frustrating.
