My display unit a 06058M became stuck on -40 degrees.  Aftter doing factor restarts I got connected with a tech who walked me through factor restarts and lots of questions she instructed me to print a  mailing label and send it back, which I did.  It was returned in about 2 weeks with a circuit board replaced and is now working.  It still varies between no bars and 4 bars but usually restarts in a few minutes or a couple hours. You might try a support tech if you haven't already.

Hello James,
Please verify you are using the battery recommendations and try the troubleshooting steps listed below. If this does not correct the issue, the unit will need to be replaced. We do have a one year warranty that we are happy to assist you with.

Batteries:

•Verify you are using fresh alkaline batteries or lithium batteries (when temperature is below -4°F/-20°C) in sensor.

•Quality brand batteries are recommended, including Duracell, Rayovac, Energizer, or Kirkland.

•Verify batteries are fresh. The battery expiration date should be at least 6 years out. Batteries can lose 3% power or more every year in storage.

•Heavy duty, extra strength or generic / store brand batteries are not recommended for use with AcuRite products because they may cause performance irregularities due to the way these types of batteries disperse power. Each battery should not exceed 1.6 volts.

•Rechargeable batteries are not recommended for use with AcuRite products because they may cause performance irregularities due to the voltage instability of these types of batteries.

•Mixing different battery types (brands, old/new, etc.) is not recommended.

Please remove the battery for a full two minutes to let the display power down completely then reinstall the battery.
