How to set rain fall alert to less than an inch

I can not set an alert for anything except whole inches. I want to be alerted when I get .25 inches of rain. When I use the App to set the alert, the decimal isn't shown so it goes in as 25 inches! If I try the online alert set, I can type the decimal point but after saving, it shows 0.

I was able to get .25 alerts with the older software.

Hello Roger,

As of right now the alert minimum has to be 1 inch. We would be happy consider this for future improvements. Thank you. Have a good day!

I would like to ask that this be strongly considered for an update ASAP. I looked back at my records and only received a 1+ inch rainfall 7 times in all of 2015 and 4 times in 2016.

Having these notifications at the 1 inch minimum isn't really worth while. I used to have a notification set for .25 inches (to indicate a "decent" rainfall) and 1.0 inches (to indicate a "drenching" rainfall).

Even if there were set levels (in 1/4 of an inch?) to help with programming and bringing this feature to the platform ASAP that would be OK to me.

Both worked perfectly fine on the old portal/interface.

This has to be fixed. It is silly I can't be notified of rain till I receive an inch or more.

In the last 6 weeks, I haven't had a single rain event of over 1 inch in a day but have had over 20 rain events (including .47 inches in 20 minutes today). The 1 inch minimum is practically unusable.

Quick "fix" until they fix this silly bug: Switch to metric. I get an alert now at 1 mm (~0.04 inches), so I know it's started raining at the house.

Interesting one can get an alert for 0.04" using metric but 0.99" imperial would not issue an alert...... duh

This seems like a programming issue, somehow the system looks for a full number (1) of a unit before sending out an alert. So that could be 1 CM (.04 inch) or 1.0 inch?

Hello All,

At this time the only way to set the alert is for at least 1 inch of rain. We will look into this for future product improvements. Thank you. Have a good day!

I would hope this would become a priority as the threshold of 1" is rather useless. Thx!

Hello Blenderbender,

We do look into feedback for future development but it does not necessarily mean that the suggestion will be implemented, or implemented right away. Thank you. Enjoy your day!

Thanks Jennifer for that perspective. The only thing I would add is that 'good feedback' of a product is great advertisement for selling the product which is in the end I'm sure the ultimate goal of Acurite and it's employees. 'Bad feedback' on the other hand deters people from considering same products. This is truly a glitch that got overlooked somehow and significantly affects the product's usefulness for folks that require a lot more precision. I mean the name is ACURITE! No need to reply..... I'll quit beating this dead horse. Happy Holidays!

Yup, after the update this morning, the bug still persists. Not sure why Acurite announced yesterday that it was fixed. Staying in metric for now to get 1 mm alerts.
