How to connect multiple devices to the Acurite Access

Well, my Access arrived. Let's just say the documentation is, ummmm, lacking.

How do I go about connecting multiple devices?

I have two 3 in 1 sensors and a temp/humidity sensor. I would like to add another temp/humidity sensor.

I have put in new batteries, the little red light is flashing and the sensor will not come up in my available sensors list. Is there something else I should be doing?

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

I just installed and replaced my old bridge with the new Acurite Access and had no issues and recognizes my 5 in 1 and (2) other temp/humidity sensors. I ordered another identical temp/ humidity sensor and the new Aacess cannot detect it inspite of going through my detailed router info, disconnecting the batteties momentarily and placing it beside Access. I think the Acurite servers and code on customer info need updates because like many others, it seems we were limited to having (3) total devices and even with this new hardware, Access cannot update new sensors even if it detects them. I assume Access can work with up to 10 compatible sensors. I have (3) working and a 4th new one undetectable. Pls. customer service- correct this bug in your systems.

I share the same problems with the others here regarding undectable compatible sensors and posted the possible reasons 12 hours ago. Upon further analysis, I think it’s not any user errors in the setup. The humidity/ temp sensors have a range of 330 feet so it does not make sense that the new Acurite Access cannot detect them one feet away. These are new units with fresh batteries and red LED’s flashing so it’s not a setup issue.

I did a “replace” station instead of adding a new one when I setup and replaced my old bridge. All that changed in the Acurite servers was the station I. D. and the servers immediately updated this with the remaining two sensors and 5 in 1 station features remaining the same.
Remember the old bridge limited the number of sensors to three. So essentially, I’m still stuck with three with the fourth new one still undetectable.
I looked at the I. P. of my station in detail and only (3) sensors detected and not detecting any fourth sensor. The firmware version of my Access is 046. Since Acurite does not have any feature to manually update the firmware, I do not know whether this is current but I believe, that the Access firmware may need to be updated to detect more sensors.
This is an issue for the IT people and customer service of Acurite to resolve.

Tech 1394 I can not answer some of your questions but I can correct and answer some.  The old bridge / smarthub could and does monitor up to 10 compatible sensors the new Access unit can as advertised monitor up to 7 compatible sensors.  046 is the current firmware version that the Access uses.

Hello tech1394,

I was not able to locate a My AcuRite account under your email address. The AcuRite Access is compatible with up to 7 sensors. To add a sensor click on Settings>Devices. You should see the new sensor under 'Available Sensors' if it is compatible. What is the model number listed on the back of the sensor that is not connecting? Thank you.

Thanks for the info however, the sensor I have powered up is not showing up in the list.

I put in brand new batteries, the light is flashing and it is not listed as an available sensor.

The batteries have been in for over an hour. The device is sitting outside, maybe 40 feet from the Access device.

Can you see your Access when you open the splash page ( IP address for it )  ?  If yes then any other sensor will show on there . Sometimes you need to also pull the batteries out of the sensors and put them real close to the Access them put the batteries back in them . After they connect then you can move them outside .

I have never tried a direct connection to the Access. What IP address would I use?

I can see the Access and my other three sensors on the Dashboard but, that is it.

If you open your routers home page ( ip address of your router ) you will see everything connected to it . Look for your Access MAC address and you will see its IP address . Copy and paste that and you will then see you Access splash page with everything connected to it . Its also good for trouble shooting your Access plus it makes it easy to reboot it from there .

What type of sensor are you have a problem with ?

I would try the following to see if your Access will pick it up . Bring it inside and pull batteries . Place next to Access put back in batteries and change channel to something new . Wait a couple of minutes then open your MyAcuRite dashboard , go to Devices the down to  Available Sensors and see if it shows up there . Hope that helps .

The router does not wish to play nice right now. I'll reboot it tomorrow.

The sensor has fresh batteries, I have changed the channel and it is siting about six inches from the Access. I'll check tomorrow and see how things are going.

Thank you Michael B for all of your help so far.

Well, things get more bizarre...

I have connected to my router, looked at the connected devices and the Access is not listed. It is obviously connected as my Dashboard is updating, I just don't see it on the list!

I have rebooted both the router and the Access to no avail. :(
