Hello Jesse,
There is not a specific number we can provide per data usage. The data usage for the Access would depend on how many sensors you have attached to the Access and if you are linked to Weather Underground.  Please let us know if you have any other questions. Thank you.

What would minimum be with one sensor? And underground off? Need answer as not satisfied with smart hub usage and will not be upgrading if I can't get an answer!

thanks. What would the minimum be with one sensors and underground off? Deciding weather to upgrade or give up on acurite.

Here's a rough estimate for a single 5n1 sensor that is ONLY reporting to myAcurite.

A SmartHUB will generate 4800 messages a day to myAcurite. (a message every 18 seconds)

An Access will generate 288 messages a day to myAcuite. (a message every 5 minutes)

That's about a 16.7 times reduction in messages.

Now, assuming a very conservative estimate that the SmartHUB generates 1/2 Gigabytes of traffic a month, that would put the Access at around 30 Megabytes per month.

The traffic reduction with the Access gets even more dramatic if you have multiple sensors.  That's because the Access bundles ALL sensor data and sends it every 5 minutes in a single message, rather than sending individual messages for every individual sensor for every radio transmission.

Keep in mind these numbers really get thrown off considerably if you're also reporting to wunderground due to "rapid-fire" transmissions.

Thanks George that will help! As currently I am just going over my data which results in high costs! Cheers!

I have the access w/ a 5n1 station.  I have a FreedomPop free data sim card installed into an AT&T Unite Explore hotspot.  In 30 days I've used 376mb of data.  I'm ALSO linked to WU so I'm not sure if that adds more data usage than just linking to acurite.

EDIT:  as George mentions It may use less data than what I use if you don't link to WU

Wunderground will add considerably to the data load as it transmits to wunderground every 18 seconds.

That makes sense.  Thanks for clarifying again..  One of these day's I may try to Unlink from WU & test data usage used for Acurite only.
