How do I transfer data if the power has gone out

I initially set up my new Professional Weather Center 02064 without a PC connection, when I got the message that it was full I went to connect it to my PC.  Unfortunately I had to unplug it from the power thinking that the battery backup would save the information, but when I plugged it back it the date and time were wrong and the software told me there was no information to download.  Does that mean I have lost all my previous information?  Is there anyway to find it?  As it should not be any different to the power going out.  Other than this the whole family enjoys checking the weather.

Thank you, even though it wasn't what I wanted to hear.

Hello Jennifer,

Tom is correct. If you lost power and the batteries did not kick in as the back up then the data would be lost. There are low battery icons on the display. For indoor it is above the time and for the outdoor it is to the right of the pine trees. These one next to the pine trees will display when the sensor battery is low, and the one above the time will display when the display batteries are low.

I found that the first batteries I put in the display unit did not kick in when power was disconnected.  They measured fine but I noticed a little  film (corrosion) on the bottom of the batteries.  Replaced with fresh out of package new ones and it was fine.  Guess I could have also rubbed the film off but decided to rather use fresh ones.
