Future forecasts

I don't understand the future forecasting on 02099, how can I find this out?

I don't understand what the future forecasting is trying to predict for the next 12-24 hours?

Robyn its using the temperature, humidity, and the barometric pressure to try and predict or if you will guess what the weather is going to be 12 - 24 hours in the future.  Its like the weatherman on TV telling you that tomorrow its going to be 65 and sunny with a chance of rain at night.  Don't forget the weatherman on TV has millions of dollars worth of equipment to use and your using a $100 system. I hope this helps.

I am having difficulty understanding the future weather for the next 12-24 hours on 02099, I have looked at the manual but I still don't understand it. How do I know if the weather is accurate and can you please explain better about the future forecasting? The manual is no help.

Hello Robyn,

Your display will go through what we call a learning mode.

Learning Mode is a time span during which AcuRite products utilize a unique algorithm to analyze changes in pressure and temperature over time to determine your altitude. During Learning Mode, AcuRite products have a Learning Mode icon on the display screen.  

The Learning Mode algorithm begins with the global average pressure (29.92 inHg). The weather station then takes 4,000 readings at 12-minute increments to calculate a running average and compute the barometric pressure for your exact location.

The pressure accuracy of AcuRite self-calibrating forecasters increases with each new reading over the Learning Mode time period. After 14 days, the Learning Mode icon disappears from the weather station screen (example pictured on left). At this point, the self-calibrated pressure is reasonably accurate (although the algorithm continues to run; 4,000 readings = 33.33 days) and the weather forecaster is ready for superior weather prediction. Once the learning mode is complete you will have an accurate forecast reading. If you are currently going through the learning mode you may see inaccuracies until the learning mode is complete.
