Acces hooked up for over 3 hours. Flashing red light on front, nothing on back. Have rebooted both the router and the Access. What is the new common problem with this one?

If you have no lights on the back on either side of the Ethernet connection then you have a basic connectivity issue. That is the first problem you need to solve. Nothing will work until you have basic connectivity. Try re-seating the Ethernet cable into both the Access and your router (make sure it "clicks" and is fully seated in the connector. Try a known working Ethernet cable. Try a different (known working) port on your router.

Thanks for the reply. Of course I tried all of that before posting; two different cables, reseating cables, the port im using is the same one my smart hub was using but I can try another one.

Well, switching ports worked. Strange though, it wont work on the port it was on but works on another however, the other device works on the "non working" port.

Some routers have an anti-jabber feature that will shut down the port of a badly behaving device. Usually, a reboot will re-enable that.
