While we have already stopped both production and sales of the smartHUB, we recognize many of you have recently purchased the smartHUB and want to become better acquainted with My AcuRite prior to upgrading to the AcuRite® AccessTM.
We’ve also taken into account our customers who have smartHUB’s in second homes, elderly family member’s homes, vacation homes and rental properties and need additional time to implement upgrades in all those locations.
Customers who have a My AcuRite account and who purchased a new AcuRite smartHUB are eligible to upgrade to the AcuRite Access for the introductory price of $39.99 (plus tax and shipping) through March 31, 2018.
In January we sent you an email with a unique coupon code to upgrade to AcuRite Access at the introductory price. If you no longer have this email, you can request it to be resent at go.acurite.com/request-an-acurite-access-upgrade-code.
You can learn more about our new AcuRite Access for My AcuRite here:https://www.acurite.com/access-my-acurite-remote-monitoring.html.
Thank you for your continued patronage and we look forward to exceeding your expectations for years to come.

This is certainly a nice compromise and only because of pressure from savvy ACURITE users. This was forced upon them because ACURITE knew that they were in a legal bind as per their lawyers. Warrantees have to be honored. Philosophically, there is a deeper issue that still exists. Corporate ACURITE needs to execute their plan more carefully. Much damage has been done to their public relations. Owning a SMARTHUB for less than a year and being told its obsolete is not good business practice. I personally would not have bought this SMARTHUB under those terms. ACURITE should honor their rebate code to upgrade to the ACCESAS hub come February 2019 until that date plus 30 days. This will show good faith and assure that existing customer with SMARTHUBS will be back to upgrade.
Here is the situation I, and most others outside the US, are in. My SmartHUB setup does exactly what I want it to do right now. I don't want or need a battery backup, or local data storage or increased range. Having said that, you are expecting me to upgrade my product which is currently serving my needs exactly, at a cost of $100 + due to shipping, duties, exchange rates, etc. I understand those things may be out of your control, but perhaps if you waited for the access to be widely available in other places, like Amazon, and then offered a mail in rebate or discount code to existing smarthub owners, we could avoid all those extra fees before the EOS date.
On top of that, you need to offer me something besides my current functionality. I have no doubt you have a whole new lineup of sensors in the works for the new access hub. Maybe you have something in the works that I will be interested in, and then want to upgrade to the access to use it. Until then, I see no reason to upgrade. There are tons of other products out there that do the basic functionality that I want. I'm not sure why you expect me to pay to upgrade for the same price I can purchase one of those other systems down the road at a big box store or on Amazon right now.
If all you want to do is extend the EOS period to FEB 2019, fine. But I see no reason at all not to extend the upgrade discount to that period as well. There is no way in hell I am buying the access before March, and without the discount, and a chance to see how this all pans out and what might be in the works for the access, there is no way I will pay full price to upgrade after March. I will be moving to Davis Instruments.
I have tried several times to get a code for the upgrade without success. Again last Wednesday with my MAC address. I tried calling this morning and was told I was number 11 in line and based on past experience I didn't have an hour to pay for on the phone.
Please check my response and send a code or contact me directly at my registered email address for this account. I have over the years acquired four bridges as I have upgraded systems so have ample MAC addresses although only one bridge has ever been in use.
I hope you can find the error which is preventing me from getting in contact with you. All my email box shows is "no signal received" at various times for the last five months.
One reason why I chose the unit I did was so that I could monitor it anywhere when not at home. To be honest, I remember seeing a previous email, but did not have time to really understand it due to my wife’s serious health condition as I have become her caregiver.
It took me several months to find someone who could install it for me so I haven’t had that much time getting use from it. If I had known that you were discontinuing it, I would have chosen something else. Even Microsoft supports their products longer than that.
I am very disappointed in AcuRite.
