Spent many hours on telephone with support. Signal from sensor keeps dropping off on display. Was told to buy new 5 in one sensor....didn't solve problem. Then bought new smarthub. that seems to be working, but display still not finding sensor. I think acurite should send me a new display...spent enough already to purchase whole new system

Likewise, I have two different displays, working great initially, then both of them in different places of the house, lose the signal about the same time of day, and then find the signal again only to lose the again the next time.  Called them, they said it could be a HAM operator in the area or something stupid like that.  Then I was told to move them to a different location, but that is idiotic as I have two different models in two different areas of my house and they act exactly the same.  I gave up, and just leave them as is.  When I want a reading, and they are not sensing the 5-in-1, I just open my app on my phone and read it.  sad, but that is the way it is i guess.  poor

Hello Mark,
We apologize for any inconvenience you have experienced. I was not able to locate a recent case regarding this issue. I want to make sure I am understanding correctly. Your two displays will lose connection to the 5in1 sensor at the same time but the HUB will not?  Please verify you are using the battery recommendations and try the troubleshooting steps listed below.

Batteries:

•Verify you are using fresh alkaline batteries or lithium batteries (when temperature is below -4°F/-20°C) in sensor.

•Quality brand batteries are recommended, including Duracell, Rayovac, Energizer, or Kirkland.

•Verify batteries are fresh. The battery expiration date should be at least 6 years out. Batteries can lose 3% power or more every year in storage.

•Heavy duty, extra strength or generic / store brand batteries are not recommended for use with AcuRite products because they may cause performance irregularities due to the way these types of batteries disperse power. Each battery should not exceed 1.6 volts.

•Rechargeable batteries are not recommended for use with AcuRite products because they may cause performance irregularities due to the voltage instability of these types of batteries.

•Mixing different battery types (brands, old/new, etc.) is not recommended.

Hard reset:

- Bring both units side by side and remove all batteries, unplug display if it has an ac adapter

- Change the ABC Switch to a different setting and ensure that both are on the same setting. example - If on A, move both to C

- Place batteries into the outdoor sensor first

- Place batteries into display

- Allow units to sit side by side until they connect.

Hello Judith,
What brand of batteries are you using? If you have followed the steps above and still do not connect, the outdoor sensor will need to be replaced. When and where was this purchased? If it is outside the one year warranty, the sensor can be purchased at the link below. Thank you.
