Display 1512-RX Ticking. Ticking?

Sitting in the living room reading. I hear what could be a dripping faucet so I go to the kitchen and check. Not that. I go all around the room listening, and finally home in on my color display (1512-RX). I can hear a faint "whirring" sound, like an old timey electric clock. Every few seconds I can hear a tick sound. It's not regular but it makes this tick sound every 3-5 seconds or so. I've noticed this for several weeks now. Tell me, why would this electronic device with apparently no moving parts, be making any sound at all?

Ha! No. If it was I'd get a grip around his throat. :)

I'm serious. It ticks!

Hello Wingsy,

This is certainly an odd issue. We would recommend to try and factory reset the display unit. To do so, press and hold the reset button located inside the battery compartment of the display for 10-12 seconds or until the display clears. Please let us know if this issue continues. Thank you.

OK, I reset it. Started ticking right away.
Hopefully this link will work for you .. it's a recording of the clicking sound.

Hello Wingsy,

We were able to listen to it. It sounds like your sensor. Do you have the sensor sitting next to the display?  I am not positive but it almost sounds like your tipping levers inside the sensor moving back and forth. If it is coming from the display, could you send a video of the display so we can take a look at the behavior of it. We appreciate your assistance in this. Thank you.

No, my 5-in1 is 120ft away. I do have a couple of extra temperature sensors but one is outside and the other in the attic. There is no doubt that it's coming from the display. If you put your ear up against it you would know it. I can make a video of the display but give me a hint of what it is you may be looking for so I can be sure to focus in on that. The display appears perfectly normal to me.

OK, here ya go. I wasn't sure if the tick would be picked up by my iPhone, but it's there. You may have to crank up your volume a bit.
