could my SmartHub be causing problems with my cable modem? I've been having issues with my Comcast service dropping its connection. My SmartHub was about 2 feet away from the modem. I now moved it so it's about 4 feet away, but closer to my computer.  Could this be my connectivity issue here? Could there be an RFI issue coming from the SmartHub?

The SmartHub is a Receiver, not a Transceiver.
OTOH If your Internet is being flooded by a misbehaving 802.3 device on one of the ports, yes.
Likely: No.  You would probably see constant activity on the RJ45 jack LEDs

I'm aware of that (N2ERN) but I'm looking all possibilities. My Airport Extreme router is connected via ethernet to my Mac, the SmartHub, and another router in the house.  Damn Comcast keeps dropping out. Arris (SB6183 Modem) is very helpful with testing, so I will have lots of data when CC gets here.  I suspect water intrusion at the pole.

Ye,same i`m aware of (N2ERN) Modem Router AER This router was purchased by me back in September 2013. The apartment has 5 consumers and all at a frequency of 5GHz (three iPhones, one MacBook Pro, one iPad mini tablet). No problems, reception and transmission of the signal at a super level.
