Color display 02080 -RX blank

We installed our new weather station about a week ago. Everything worked as expected until suddenly the color display does not show the outdoor temp, wind, or indoor temp. It has a strong signal to the 5-in-1 and the ticker displays correct information. We reset the display and it did not help. Also the backlight button no longer changes the backlight.

Just a wild guess here, but is the AC power adapter plugged into a working outlet and also plugged in to the display?

We unplugged it for about 15 minutes and when we plugged it back in, everything was working properly! Thanks for the suggestions.

So it happened again. Just as before, it would not display the wind or outside or inside temperatures. We unplugged it and removed the batteries and 15 minutes later, plugged it back in and everything displayed. 5 minutes later, the inside temperature has disappeared. All of our historical data reset. If we have to unplug for 15 minutes each week and can't track historical data, I will sell this at the flea market and do reasearch and buy a more reliable system.

I am currently experiencing the same problem. Done all the same things you did as far as resetting. I am also finding that when I go to set up the station again, the monitor goes blank and I can't in put info.

I called customer support and retuned the unit for repair. I received it back last week and so far no more troubles.

Hello Tony,

Please try the following steps below. If this doesn't correct the problem, please let us know.

To do a factory reset: (THIS WILL CLEAR ALL OF YOUR HISTORY AND YOUR SETTINGS)

Please verify that you are using a name brand (Rayovac or Energizer) standardalkaline batteries in the display unit. We do not recommend using anything thatis heavy duty, rechargeable, store brand or Lithium inside of the display.

- Remove all power, AC adapter and batteries, from the display unit.
- Press and hold down the pin hole reset button, located in the batterycompartment, for 20 seconds.
- Plug back into AC power and insert recommended batteries.
- Press and hold down the pin hole reset button for an additional 20 seconds.
- Verify that the unit has powered on and once connection has been made, attempt to set time and date.

I'm having the same problem with mine.  I reset it for the second time since receiving the unit as a gift for Christmas.  All historical data for the year was lost...again.  Seems to happen every other month.  Will be attempting to contact customer support.

Hello Jeff,

You keep getting a blank display? What is the model number of your display? Make sure that the adapter cord is plugged snuggly into the display. If you wiggle the adapter do you lose power? Do you have batteries in as a back up as well?

Sounds like a bad display. Something not right in the Rx section. I'd replace it under warranty before selling it off at the flea market.

My 02080-RX has the same problem with the outdoor temp, wind speed, and inside temp display not showing up. Tried previous solutions and still have no upper display. What can I do?
