Cheaply made (China?) plastic wind cups don't stand up to the strong UV rays in AZ. Had a mild storm last week, winds of 32MPH, and all 3 wind cups snapped off my 5in1 (02064C). This cup assembly needs to be made of a light weight alloy to withstand the effects of UV rays, and high winds.

This unit is < 1year old and the warranty does NOT cover this! Really? VERY disappointed that this is not covered.

Hello Chris,

We are sorry to hear that your wind cups have broken.  We appreciate your feedback as we are always looking for ways to improve our products in the future.  If you would like to replace your broken cups, as you're aware, they are available for $5 at the following link.  Thank you and have a great day!

Boilerplate response-

Question is why this is not a warranty issue when unit is <one year old. Could it be that these cups were ID'd as garbage right out of the chute, and AcuRite didn't want to step up to the plate and take care of it's customers?

Back to Costco it goes, and AcuRite is off my list---

Hello Chris,

The wind cups are not covered under warranty because there are many variables that can cause the wind cups to break such as storms, and hail just to name a few. Thank you. Have a good day!
