Can't set time on 13040

The clock reset the time and date to midnight and Jan 1, and I can't reset it. The "set" button does nothing for setting the time, and it also doesn't change the alarm time. The other buttons, for changing the brightness of the display are working fine.

Hello Donna,

We would recommend resetting the display.

To do a factory reset: (THIS WILL CLEAR ALL OF YOURHISTORY AND YOUR SETTINGS)

Please verify that you are using a name brand (Rayovac or Energizer) standardalkaline batteries in the display unit. We do not recommend using anything thatis heavy duty, rechargeable, store brand or Lithium inside of the display.

- Remove all power, AC adapter and batteries, from the display unit.
- Press and hold down the pin hole reset button, located in the battery compartment, for 20 seconds. (if your display has one if it does not then remove the batteries for 2 minutes)
- Plug back into AC power and insert recommended batteries.
- Press and hold down the pin hole reset button for an additional 20seconds.
- Verify that the unit has powered on and once connection has been made, attempt to set time and date.

Thanks for the reply.

There was no pinhole button in the battery compartment, but there seems to be one next to the battery compartment. I tried that, and I previously tried leaving the batteries out for about 30 minutes (while I was waiting for midnight to reset the clock) and I still can't change the settings.

The batteries are standard Energizer, nothing fancy.

To be clear, the clock resets just fine, even if I just remove batteries or unplug for a second. It goes to Thur Jan 1 at 12:00.

But from that point, the button I'm supposed to use to set the time doesn't work, no matter how long I press it.

Hello Mohammad,

What is the issue you are having? If you are not able to set the time please remove the power for about 3-5 minutes. After that time frame power up the clock and attempt to set the date and time on it.

Hi Jennifer,
I did so but it didn't work. I waited for more than 5 minutes. It just reset to 12:00 am and SET button doesn't work. It seems there is a design problem with this model. Do you have any effective solution for this? Don't worry, I'm an engineer, you can even ask me to open it and reset on board if required :)
