Can I adjust the dial sensitivity on my 00280 timer?

I bought a second 00280 rotary dial timer today. I tested it a bit, and it seems the dial is much, much more sensitive than on my first one. Whereas the first one requires > 1 click per minute, this new one adjusts by several minutes per click, making it very difficult to adjust precisely. Can I adjust the sensitivity of the dial somehow? I'd rather not have return this thing and pay shipping.

Hi Nathan,

What brand of batteries are you using in the timer?  We recommend using high quality, standard alkaline batteries such as Rayovac or Energizer.  You may want to remove the batteries for 5 minutes and allow it to power down completely in order to reset it.  If this does not resolve the issue, please contact AcuRite Customer Support at 877-221-1252 to inquire about possible warranty coverage.  Have a great day!
