I've purchased AcuRite 02027A1 from Amazon.
Can this device predict weather accurately in Singapore?
Which Geo Zone should I select?

The forecasts are based on heuristics (rules-of-thumb) generated against North American historical data.  They might not work so well in Singapore.

Threre's no harm in experimenting with the geozone settings though.  You might start with selecting a zone that seems like it would have geography and weather patterns similar to your own.  I'm just guessing, but you might try geozone "G" which would be the region around the Gulf of Mexico .

BTW, where is the Geozone setting?  Is this same as Timezone setting?

The geozone is not the same as the timezone.

Geozone is an Acurite-specific concept of the regions of North America corresponding to their weather forecasting rules.  Here's the map showing the geozones.

In MyBackyardWeather, you can hit the settings button on one of the forecasting widgets.  There will be a button for "Geographic Region" so you can select the zone you want.

Be aware, though, that MyBackyardWeather will soon be replaced by myAcurite.   I don't know how myAcurite will work with foreign addresses and forecasting.

Thanks George,
As I'm ordering 02027A1, which doesn't have internet connectivity and no access to MyBackyardWeather.  I suppose, in this case Geo Zone setting is not applicable for my device, I guess?

Hi Alexliu,

You are correct this device does not have the Geo Zone reporting. This is a future forecast which means it's a 12-24 hour forecast. It goes through a learning mode that uses an Algorithm based off your altitude and pressure. However this algorithm is based off readings in the United States, and Canada. You may not get an accurate forecast reading on this model for your location. Please let us know if we can further assist you. Thank you. Have a great day!

Alexliu,

For forecasting there would not be a model that would work best, as the algorithm is programmed for people in the United States, and Canada. We do recommend checking back in the future as we are always updating our products, and expanding. Thank you. Have a great day!
