Brokers fees

Question for any Canadian customers on this site that have bought a product directly from Acurite. Just curious as to any additional brokerage fees when picked up or delivered, and what courier you used or USPS.

I just got mine via FedEx. No other charges beside what I paid Acurite when I ordered. I see others (from about 2 years ago) got an invoice from FedEx month(s) later for brokerage fees. If that happens I will refuse to pay. For 1) Anytime a courier drops off a parcel and tried to charge additional outrages fees I can turn them away and refuse to accept. 2) The FedEx guy just left the package at my door. Never had the option to refuse.

UPDATE: CANADIAN BUYERS BEWARE.
Got a bill from FedEx today. Total feEs=$64.00CAN. So..... I paid 39.99US for the Access + $25.00US Shipping (about $93 CAN in total) add the FEDEX charges and the total cost for this upgrade=$157.00. Could have gotten it less directly from amazon.ca

Acurite can't even figure out how to ship to Canada.  These units could ship to Canada via USPS  first class international package rates for <$20 with no brokerage fees.

It's amazing they're too stupid to figure this out!!

To make matters worse, they would not even allow me to ship to the FedEx store 15 minutes from my house just across the US/Canada border. Use this and UPS Store facilities often to avoid such fees. The US vendors I have dealt with in the past (i.e. Amazon) have no issues with this. Acurite was my first.
