How is the storm alarm determined for the Bridge Model 9150? Is it a barometric rate of change?

Good Morning John Suomi,

The storm alarm for the bridge is determined on the barometric pressure. A sudden drop can cause that alert.

Thanks. What is the definition of "sudden" (e.g. inHg/min)? Does it only trigger on falling barometric pressure?

Dear John Suomi,

It will trigger if there is a rapid change of 0.18inHG in three hours or less.

I'm getting alarm notifications for both rising and falling pressure. If it is a storm alarm, shouldn't it only trigger on falling pressure?
