Are there replacement boards sold?

Hi, I was having an issue with my weather station, it was stuck on - 40 temperature while all other sensors worked fine, after looking inside the temperature sensor housing, I noticed that the temperature sensor board had a lot of oxidation around the capacitor and sensor on the board. the board is a Psvn4b01 - 20150507. This is a big let down as the unit is only just over a year old. Is there a way to get a replacement board or is the unit ruined because of this?

Hello Bjarni,
We would first recommend the troubleshooting steps listed below. If this does not correct the issue, we do offer a temperature and humidity board replacement. As Ledrak states above, you will need to know if your sensor is compatible with the replacement. If you provide us with the model number of your outdoor sensor we can tell you if the unit is compatible otherwise, the link below will help determine this. Please let us know if you have any other questions. Thank you.

Batteries:

•Verify you are using fresh alkaline batteries or lithium batteries (when temperature is below -4°F/-20°C) in sensor.

•Quality brand batteries are recommended, including Duracell, Rayovac, Energizer, or Kirkland.

•Verify batteries are fresh. The battery expiration date should be at least 6 years out. Batteries can lose 3% power or more every year in storage.

•Heavy duty, extra strength or generic / store brand batteries are not recommended for use with AcuRite products because they may cause performance irregularities due to the way these types of batteries disperse power. Each battery should not exceed 1.6 volts.

•Rechargeable batteries are not recommended for use with AcuRite products because they may cause performance irregularities due to the voltage instability of these types of batteries.

•Mixing different battery types (brands, old/new, etc.) is not recommended.

Hard reset:

- Bring both units side by side and remove all batteries, unplug display if it has an ac adapter

- Change the ABC Switch to a different setting and ensure that both are on the same setting. example - If on A, move both to C

- Place batteries into the outdoor sensor first

- Place batteries into display

- Allow units to sit side by side until they connect.

Hi, thanks for the answer. I can confirm that we did all the relevant checks like hard reset etc, and I can confirm that the unit I have is the compatible one. It was pretty apparent that the board was faulty as there was a lit of strange oxidation around the chip on the board. Is this replacement piece a available for purchase?

Regards
