Dear Acurite Management, with regards to your decision to discontinue the use of the Smarthub,
consider Apple, one of the highest customer centric companies in the world, and producer of the iPhone.

When Apple produces a new iPhone model, such as the recent release of the IPhone X, do they deactivate and make unusable all past iPhone models? No, of course not. Old iPhones continue to work for many years, until eventually Apple discontinues support services for old models. But even then, the old models keep working. They just are not as updated or as fancy as the newest models.

What Acurite is doing by ending the use of all customers Smarthubs, and requiring the purchase of a new Access Hub, is essentially releasing the iPhone X, and immediately deactivating, aka bricking, all past iPhone models, numbers 1 - 8. Apple, a company lauded for Customer Service, doesn’t just kill off all old models. They eventually stop supporting them, but they don’t kill off the outdated models like Acurite is doing with the Smarthub.

Thanks for nothing, Acurite. I guess you Customer Company Pact, as displayed on the Support page, means nothing. You don’t value your customers, use take advantage of us.

Respectfully submitted,

Peter J. Watts
