and probably will have all kinds of "glitches".  Wait a year till they get them all fixed.  Just look at all the car recalls, manufactures are always in a HURRY to get product out but never spend the time to  test it.

It appears to be $600 for Atlas Elite, $300 for the Atlas 8 and $200 for the Atlas 7 ... higher than I was expecting, especially for the Elite. Before making a final decision, I will wait to see the early reviews and read some real world user feedback in the forums,  but it may be time for me to start looking elsewhere for a PWS.

It seems unfair to see that Amazon already has the prices and in the official page of Acurite do not say anything. .

I hope the Atlas will be backward Compatible to the 5-in-1 HD Display as I have 2 of them and the HD Display came out not long ago. Makes me wonder what the Micro USB port is for on the 06058M HD Display is used for.

Hello John N,

The USB port for that specific display is to update the firmware in the display. It is typically for quality purposes. If we were to have you send it in for a warranty claim, and something needed to be updated with the display this is how we would do it.

So are you saying that if a new FW is available, we have no recourse to Update the Display except to send it in? Is the HD Display going to be compatible to the Atlas 7/8?

Thank you for your continued interest and patience regarding the upcoming AcuRite Atlas family of products. As we are working on our product testing to ensure we deliver the best product to customers, we are also preparing for the upcoming release by updating our retail channels with product details.  Unfortunately, some of these test pages containing placeholder pricing and content were accidentally published.
We apologize for any confusion this has created. We will be sharing more details on the upcoming AcuRite Atlas products in the next few weeks through our website and this forum. As we wrote in our last update, we are doing everything we can to ensure our new AcuRite Atlas family of products performs to our expectations with the goal of exceeding your expectations with the final product.
Again, please accept our apologies and thank you for your continued patience.

By reading the above posts - it's no secret. By reading the above post by Larry where is all these updates and news. I see the post is 2 months old. I haven't heard or seen any new updates. Have I missed the updates . Seems a bit untruthful and or am I missing these new updates. Where are they ?

Don't wanna be bad mouthing accurate cause they have been good to me. They fixed my faulty weather station. Matt was very helpful. But deleting posts isn't cool. Please don't delete this one. Oct 22 2017 7pm Pacific time zone

I found the lightning sensor to be pretty sensitive.  Had lightning detection show up on my Atlas during sunshine and clear sky.  Went to the radar and saw a good storm passing 30 miles south of us.  Not enough to detect visually and it continued passing south of my locale.  Never would have known other than picking up those strikes.

Here's a close-up of what it looks like on the Atlas console.  Since my last posting, the lighting count has gone up to 50.  It looks like the activity is moving away now, as most of the strikes now are about 5 miles away.

@George, The Production site is for the Atlas only? or will all the sensors go there when they release it?

By "production site", I mean the regular "myAcurite" that services all of Acurite's customers.

This is in contrast to the "staging site" where testing is done.  That way if something goes wrong during testing, it won't impact regular customers.

Think twice before buying any Acurite products. They are screwing users that have SmartHub by discontinuing the service after only a year and a half on the market.

Doug and Chris, I guess you missed the several hundred posts here since Acurite's new policy to screw existing happy customers by bricking the perfectly functioning SmartHub.

Paul,
I know exactly what is going on and I'm not happy about it either.  I was referencing Jon's incorrect assertion that the Smart Hub has only been on the market for a year and a half.

I have personally owned one since November 2012.

Personally I feel Acurite deserves the bad press.  I bought my 5 in 1 station with SmartHUB in December and now I'm being told I can either pay or it will stop working, about 6 months from my purchase date.  Pretty crappy customer service if you ask me.  I feel they deserve every bit of bad press they are getting.

Paul, Nope didn't miss the postings. But a few posters come on daily and just continue to trash acurite over and over. get over it, move on or contact a lawyer but posting the same things every day is getting old. I chose not to complain and folked out for the upgrade and glad I did cause the new access has work perfect for me since I hooked it up, I for One has always had problems with the Bridge/SmartHub, In fact if you look back in the boards you will see how everyone had problems with the Hub. So for me I done the upgrade. But coming back daily and just trashing them is really old, lol One fellow blame Trump lmao.

Yeah, Paul, get over Acurite shafting their customers.  I mean, if you give it a few weeks, then it's probably okay that they screw folks like that.

Can we get some more information. My 5 in 1 officially broke and is reading temps of 130. I need a new Weather station now and will not buy another 5 in 1. If I can’t get anymore information I’m going to have to purchase a competitors station.

looks like you need a new temp sensor. Check the parts page they have a replacement without having to replace the whole 5 in 1

They offer a Replacement Temperature and Humidity Sensor but I see there out of stock for now, you could ask how long for a replacement.

They've been out of stock for a very long time. Maybe it's better for the company if you buy another 5 in1.
