I seriously doubt this is the case.  Try troubleshooting the situation before jumping to conspiracy theories.

I thought so too but Hub has been working fine for over a year.  Funny it happens right after posting comments.  Just saying...would not put it past them seeing the blatant lack of support for their customers.  Still the company is ripping off customers...

what other coincidences occurred?  lost power, lost internet connect, ? There are many other 'things' that could have happened to cause the situation, including the SH going bad.  Like I said in post below, the SH (first generation) had lots of issues and I did lots of testing on mine with feedback to Acurite.

i doubt it.

the Smart Hub has a temperamental antenna that is very finicky on location: an 1/8" rotation or lateral movement might cause it to lose reception.

check your Display to make sure sensor is transmitting. Then I would use IP address that your router assigned to SH and then access SH from your computer and see what sensors it recognizes and the signal strength of each sensor. in this GUI for SH, you can also do a reset. this may resolve problem. I mf not, you my need to do a hard reset by removing power and Ethernet cable for 5-10 mins. then replug and see if this works.

Over a year and no issues.  No changes to IP, gateway, network, location.  Pretty sad if you ask me.  Maybe it is the router in the bathroom closet?

do the basic trouble shooting listed above.  In your posts, you have not stated any testing just observation that the SH doesn't work and tying it to a conspiracy.  The testing might indicate where the problem exists.  Until these simple tests are performed......

Karl: ok, that was never stated. another friend at lake and myself both had our SHs die after some usage. Why, I can't tell you. it could be in the semiconductor chip (s), PCB or another component that had an early infant mortality failure. Unless units are re-tested and even deconstructed the root cause may not be found.

IF you are correct, many others would have same issue as you have. isolating a single user might be more difficult than affecting the entire user community.
