AcuRite smartHUB End of Service uk shipping

I recently purchased 3 AcuRite 06065M last year june 2017 with a cost of over $200 with shipping from amazon and have a few other standard sensors in use too, at no point was i informed that they would not be supported by the hub next year and I wasn't told if there was an issue that accurite don't ship to the uk.
I was not very amused by this when i received an email from accurite with the offer of the discounted unit which was compulsory to continue being allowed access to the units online, but I reluctantly tried to purchase the new access hub at the discounted price but discovered you don't ship to the uk !
After reading a few posts with the same issues I find the response (do you have a friend in the US who can post you one) absurd !
Are you seriously telling me I am now stuck with, including the hub and other sensors, stuck with over $300 of junk ?
I really think accurite customer services should be providing shipping to the uk under these special circumstances and I would like some help from customer services to sort this issue out, surely this cannot be the sort of service you want to give to your customers ?
This is an issue caused by the company not the customer, don't you feel any sense of obligation, loyalty or care for the problems this has caused your customers.

They only just introduced the SmartHub less than 2 years ago. August of 2016. I bought mine shortly after it was released. It is RIDICULOUS that it would already be discontinued. This is an EPIC FAIL on Acurite's part. They will LOSE CUSTOMERS. Guaranteed. Furthermore, they are screwing people that bought 10 sensors. The old hub supports 10. The new one only supports 7.

I do have 10 sensors but can manage on 7, I shouldn't have to buy I can.
But I'm annoyed that they don't ship to the uk especially under the circumstances.
They should sort something out with amazon so we can use a discount code with them if they can't be arsed to ship to the uk.

Hello Jason,

Do you have a friend or family member in the United States or Canada that you could place the order through and have it shipped to them? We have had some international customers do that.  Currently to place an order on AcuRite.com you would need the credit card to be issued in the United States or Canada. The billing and shipping address would need to be from the United States or Canada.

I’m sorry but don’t you feel a small sense of responsibility to sorting this out for the European customers that you have who have been loyal and purchased expensive equipment from you ?

Same case here.I live in Spain and received mine from Amazon just one month ago! (yes, 1 month!).
So I'm stuck with a set that will not work just 6 months after purchase, and cannot use the discount code cause they don't ship to Spain. Genious.

I would hope that where the item was sent would have no reason for amazon to give bad customer service, I hope they take this mater seriously for you as this is disgusting service knowing this item is going to be rendered useless in a few months especially when amazon are selling the new upgraded unit.
You must be so angry

I just checked amazon again and they are still for sale in multiple packages and believe it or not with a 4 year protection package ?
Imagine the disappointment of the customer who pays for a 4 year protection plan on a product that's going to be obsolete in a few months !!

Having bought the 4 year protection package will probably be a good thing.  When they brick your unit 8/31 you can claim the unit died and likely cash in on your extended warranty.

I live in the UK and bought the 5 in 1 + smart less than 6 months ago, shipping and import tax were expensive. I can't get a lawyer to claim back circa 200 quid from an american company it will cost me 1000s of pound in my own time. Not Happy. Will see if eBay can do anything. Acurite should not be allowed to do this.

I totally agree but it seems like we are stuffed in the uk and infact for anyone outside of their shipping destinations, it wouldn't be hard to lift the shipping restrictions for a while to get new units out to international customers and allow us to take advantage of the discount.
I don't feel as if I should have to pay for the replacement unit but unfortunately I have no choice if I wish to continue to use my equipment that when working I'm extremely pleased with, why they cannot arrange the use of the discount code through amazon or sort something out themselves is beyond me.
I will get the new access hub in the end when I have too and will probably have to pay the full price from amazon but I will make damn sure I leave bad reviews and do everything in my power to leave bad feedback anywhere possible on the internet and all relevant forums etc and I will be sure to never buy any of their equipment ever again, they have pulled our pants down and done us over and I want my pound of flesh as this is a sour taste in my mouth that's not going to go away anytime soon.
