Acurite Access - Not ready for prime time.

I updated as Acurite suggested. Worked fine for several weeks. However, today I stopped receiving updates at 12:01 pm. Weather Underground as well as the display works fine. My acurite, no go. All three sensors went offline at the same time, so not a battery problem. I’ve gone back to my Smarthub. Chaney, let me know when I can return to my expensive Acurite Access.

My sensors have been going offline since I upgraded to Access,  seems Acurite has no answer on how to fix this issue. Time to change to another brand.

Hello Jim,Looking at your account it appears that you haven't had a disconnection in quite awhile. Does this issue continue? Thank you.

I agree.

1. Intermittent Outages
2. Errant rainfall spikes
2. Failure to report real time temps

Chaney needs to fess up and communicate a timeline on bug fixes.

Despite having AcuRite in no sleep mode and making sure my Win 10 PC is permanently awake data drops out from my 5in1 at midnight and doesn't pick up again for 10-11 hours...?   Weird and and totally annoying.

Hello Bernard,
Did you adjust the sleep mode settings in the computer settings or do you have the box on PC Connect checked only? Thank you.

Thanks Rachell. It turned out to be an issue with windows adjusting time in the early morning hours - to do with daylight savings. It works quite well now.

One other thing... my five in one only downloads at 12 minute intervals. I want 30 minute intervals but when it set it at 30 min
it still does 12 minutes (to CSV file on my PC). Cheers.

Hello Mike,
I can see all four sensors are back up and running at this time.  Have you had any issues since? Thank you.

I switched back to the new hub about a week later and so far, no problems.

My new Access has been working fine for months.  Now it will not pick up the signal from the 5in1.  The display has 5 bars, working fine and is about 10 feet from the Access.  Tried everything on this forum.  My Acurite data has not changed in days and the sensor indicator is red. It's connected to WU but no data is available.  Any help would be appreciated.

Norman,

Assuming all your lights on Access appear normal, I would suggest you get into your Access internal web page and see if Access hears your sensor, what signal level it shows, and whether the UTC time is correct. While there, check to see if you have already moved to firmware level 047, announced this morning.

Norman,

That is a very useful diagnostic feature built into Access! Sometimes it is referred to as Access' "Splash" page

If you can find the IP address your router has assigned to Access and then enter that IP address into your browser, a very useful page produced by Access will appear on your screen. Of course you will have to log in to your router to do this. You will be able to spot Access in the DHCP assignment list by looking for its MAC address .

It is worth learning how to get to this tool. It's not hard to do, though it may seem right now like more IT than you want!

What are the lights doing on your Access, front and back?

Bravo. That all looks good. You have signal, your router sees Access, time and date are correct.

Are you viewing MyAcuRite on a computer or a phone, or same problem on both?

Can you see all of your WU credentials properly displayed on Access' internal web page?

On the phone, refresh the MyAcuRite page, make sure you are not stuck on a cached page.

OK, that is a problem!

If your credentials and device ID are absent from the splash page, Access then has no idea how to send data to WU.

My AcuRite is responsible for loading that data into Access. Don't try to do it manually via the splash page. Bad things could happen. You need to coax MyAcuRite to do it. That first off requires that Access is communicating with MyAcuRite. Second, all the sharing settings need to be set right.

Double check that MyAcuRite has your correct Access MAC address loaded in and that it shows Access as a valid device. If that looks good, you should be communicating to MyAcuRite. Your 5n1 should also show as a valid device on MyAcuRite. If all that is good and you are not communicating, you will need tech support help, or someone beyond my skill.

Tech support it is.  I'll wait until I have a couple of hours to waste.  Thanks for trying to help.

Well I tried. I'm pleased though that you have seen how the splash page works. That should serve you well in the future. Good luck!
