After a couple days of running, It seems the AcuRite 2032C stops reporting/downloading to PC connect. I have tried other software in USB Mode 4 and see the issue there also. We have also seen very high wind speeds (200mph+) and after some research it looks like a possible firmware issue or bad unit? The fix so far is to unplug the power and do a full reset of the console. This then requires us to setup the unit again (set time, date, etc) I bought the unit last XMAS for my father and at 74 years old he has a hard time setting up the unit or understanding why it does not work correctly. Is there a new firmware or something ?

Best I can do right now is run the unit in USB mode 4 and use VIS and it seems to be stable for a couple days..

Hi John,

Please tell us what version of Windows you are using on your PC.

If you are using Windows 7 or Windows 8/8.1, we would recommend that you update to the newest version of our software, AcuRite Connect. This can be downloaded at http://www.acurite.com/kbase/downloads/AcuRite-Connect.html. Please verify that your display is set to USB mode 3 to allow it to connect to this new software.

I am currently using VIS Reader and still having the issue. Seems like the only way to resolve it is to unplug the console and reset up everything.

I am also seeing rain being reported even when it’s not raining sometimes. After some research I have found the following:

We are now on windows 10. This issue is hard to reproduce as it can happen within a couple hours to a couple of days.

VIS Reader reports "unable to connect to USB device". If I unplug the console and plug it back in it does beep as it’s detected.

If I unplug the USB cable, the computer can detect it’s there or not there. Acurite was having the same issue. Rebooting does not help.

Only fix I can find is unplugging the USB and power and letting it sit for a couple mins and then sometimes it will take 2 or 3 tries to recycle the unit and setup the info before it will connect to VIS Reader or Acurite. Right now it seems to be about 6 days between having to do a hard reset:

I am currently broke and have not reset (have not had time at this point to go play with it)
This unit was purchased in December 2014.
