Acurite 01538 Wi-Fi Connection?

Could anyone give me tips on how to connect the wifi enabled display (model 01538) to my wireless network. Seems I missing something here. This display has no ethernet port, no WPS connection button. When plugged in, it does not show-up on my network, either in windows or my router. Weird thing, is that it shows up on IPad wifi devices. All that is given is the MAC address and IP address from the manual. TP-Link, the router company said to check if it is plug & play? Does not seem so. Does Acurite have any wifi software for connecting this device? Any ideas would be appreciated. Mike

Michael the directions on page 3 are all I can go by, do you have a weather underground account looks like you need to do this first.  Then it looks like when you power up the display you need to search for the " Acurite 01538 " wifi network with you computer and log into it.      https://www.acurite.com/media/manuals/01538HD-instructions.pdf

As I said, my computer does not see or find this device. That is the problem. I already have a weather underground account. But that log on says "it must be connected" in order to access. Talked to Acurite Tech Support which was no help at all. Waited 3 hours with support and all they asked me is if I wanted "elevated support". By that time, I had enough.

Does your computer see the "Acurite 01538" wireless network?  You can only connect to it from a computer with a wifi adapter installed, like your iPad.

In Windows 10 Network and Sharing: I have opened,  "Setup a new network or connection"  with "Setup a new router of access point" no luck. Am I looking in the right place?

You could do it with your iPad.  Many do it with their SmartPhones.  It really doesn't matter as long as you have a decent web browser on the device.

No.  You should have a wifi icon in the lower right of your desktop.  If you click on it, it will show the available wifi networks you can connect to.  "Acurite 01538" should be one of them, assuming you are in-range.

Not true, I have a wired Ethernet connection for my PC  That connection comes from my wireless router. .

For this to work, there has to be a wireless adapter on your PC.  You can't do it through a wired connection to a wireless router.

It sounds like your PC doesn't have it own wireless adapter, so doing it through your iPad is the way to go.

Basically what you're doing is trying to set up a direct wireless connection between your computing device and the display, so your computer needs a wireless adapter.

The display won't use your existing wireless network until after the setup is all complete.

Hello Michael,
We are happy to hear you are up and running. George is correct, if your computer has a direct Ethernet connection it is not connecting to Wi-Fi which is why you are not seeing the display in your computer devices. Please let us know if you have any other questions. Thank you.

This weather station features wireless Internet connectivity in order to connect and send your data to Weather UndergroundTM. If you do not already have a WU (Weather UndergroundTM) account, please create your account at  wunderground.com prior to the following Wi-Fi setup.

I'm guessing that your windows 10 computer is not wifi because you should see it as an available network, but I don't see why you could not finish the set up on your Ipad
