Unable to connect with outside sensor, bought this unit from Lowe's a month ago. About 4 days ago to outside temp locked at 20 degrees. Multiple times trying to reset the unit failed. Called the online support, unit manufactured date is over a year old so it's not under warranty - Great! Bought it a month ago and manufacture date is over a year old?!  They wanted to sell me replacement parts, but didn't want to buy parts since the reliability is sketchy at best. Well it work for a month.

I am experiencing the same with my equipment. I had to bring the weather station a lot closer for better reception. I also changed the frequencies from A to B to C. It is tricky. Not sure if it could be a new unknown frequency interference. Not sure.

Good Luck!

Hello Lori,
We are very sorry for any inconvenience you may have experienced. I was not able to locate a call log under your name or the email used for your community forum account. We are always happy to assist you with your station. The unit will have a one year warranty from the date of purchase.  We do ask for the proof of purchase for warranty.  Please verify you are using the battery recommendations and try the troubleshooting steps listed below. If this does not correct the issue, please let us know. Thank you.

Batteries:

•Verify you are using fresh alkaline batteries or lithium batteries (when temperature is below -4°F/-20°C) in sensor.

•Quality brand batteries are recommended, including Duracell, Rayovac, Energizer, or Kirkland.

•Verify batteries are fresh. The battery expiration date should be at least 6 years out. Batteries can lose 3% power or more every year in storage.

•Heavy duty, extra strength or generic / store brand batteries are not recommended for use with AcuRite products because they may cause performance irregularities due to the way these types of batteries disperse power. Each battery should not exceed 1.6 volts.

•Rechargeable batteries are not recommended for use with AcuRite products because they may cause performance irregularities due to the voltage instability of these types of batteries.

•Mixing different battery types (brands, old/new, etc.) is not recommended.

Hard reset:

- Bring both units side by side and remove all batteries

- Place batteries into the outdoor sensor first

- Place batteries into display

- Allow units to sit side by side until they connect.

Hello Lori,

We were not pulling up anything under that name either. When you called in did you provide an email address? Do you have a case number to reference? Thank you.

Hello. I have tried your suggestion 6 times nothing. It worked for 3 weeks then stopped. I did buy lithium batteries cost 13.00 it upsets me to think that a company won t stand behind their product just because the manufacture life is expired. And why would I keep the receipt or proof of purchase if the item works? Who would have thought it wouldn't work after 3 weeks

Hello Lori,

To submit a warranty claim we would need a copy of the receipt dated within the last year.  I would recommend contacting Lowes again to see if they could pull up the receipt with the card you used.

I know that!!!  I don't have one... thats the problem, it worked for 3 weeks so I threw the packaging and the receipt away. Ive been to Lowe's and they can't bring up my purchase. Why is it so difficult for your reputable company to exchange this through them? I get that its out of manufacture warranty but really. 3 weeks old.I know your thinking how do you know that its not older without a receipt. Well that is all it is. I know when I bought it. I do know that I have tried every possible thing you have told me to do and nothing worked.  All Id like is to replace this one that don't work. Doesn't seem like Im asking for a lot. It was only 25.00 not like it was that costly. Thats not my point.

Thanks Lori

Hello Lori,

We do apologize but we would need to validate the warranty to submit a warranty claim. If there is no receipt to validate the warranty we would not be able to offer a replacement.
