Accurite Netgear and Frontier Internet in Montague, Mi

I have recently been asked by Frontier to upgrade to the ADSL Netgear D2200D modem.

My weather station and Smarthub were working fine and connecting to the internet on the old modem.  The Netgear and Smarthub will not connect to the internet.

I have reset both devices and tried different cables without success.

Suggestions?

Hello J. Michael,

We see you currently have a smartHUB updating on My AcuRite. Have been able to get your unit up and running?  Please let us know if you have any questions. Thank you and have a great day!

The unit is up and running and reporting to MyAcurite, but continues to not report to WU.  I have checked all the settings including updating the station ID and passwords.

Hello J Michael Kramer,

We would recommend removing the station ID and password and entering it back in. Some customers have luck with entering their station ID and passkey instead of password. We would recommend trying both of these if one is not working.  If entering your credentials back in to My AcuRite doesn't correct the problem, go to devices and change the address in the device profile. Leave it for about 10 minutes. This should push the information to Weather Underground and it should update. Let us know if you continue to have a problem. Thank you.

I am still having problems with my internet connection going bonkers ever few hours.  Not sure if there is any connection with the smarthub.  The DSL router I use is a Frontier ADSL Netgear D2200D. Any history of incompatibility?

Hello J Michael Kramer,

There has not been any incompatibility. We can see your smartHUB is transmitting online. The sensor signal is a poor signal with 1 bar. We would recommend moving the smartHUB out as far as you can from the router towards the direction of the sensor if possible. You can also rotate the smartHUB 90 degrees as well. The signal bar will take up to 2 days to update so leave it for at least 2 days to see if the signal strength improves.

How do I see the signal strength?
Also, why would the sensor impact the other internet connected devices?

Hello J Michael Kramer,

The signal strength will be on My AcuRite. If you hover over the color bar you will be able to see the signal strength and the last time it updated on My AcuRite. The sensors should not impact other internet connected devices.  It runs on a Wireless Frequency: 433 MHz.
