Within a matter of a few seconds, rainfall as reported by Dashboard and WU has jumped from O to .64".  (it's bone dry outside).

The console accurately reports 0".

Earlier this week temperature went whacky.  Now it's rainfall.

Dave...keep an eye on it. I'm having a similar issue, and haven't heard anything from AcuRite about it. My number was different than yours (mine was .56"), but I had this reading occur on 3 different occasions today. 3 different readings of .56" for a grand total of 1.68" for the day...reported to both MyAcuRite AND to WU. So keep watching and see if this occurs again, and especially if it is the same rainfall value if it does happen again.

And, oh yes. It is bone dry here, too...and no wind to speak of, so no concern about a faulty reading due to the wind. And even if it WAS a bit windy, 3 exact separate readings of .56"?

Looks like our rainstorm blew over and everything evaporated!!!

Now that is flippin' weird. Mine didn't "evaporate" like that. The total rain fall line has held in place.

At least your rain total went back to zero. Mine is still stuck with the inaccurate amount.

Did it happen to re-adjust to zero on WU?

I am assuming that you only had the one instance of this false rain reading?

Also, did you happen to reset your Access after this happened to you? I ask, because I am still having the same problem today, so I reset my Access, and today's rain zeroed out (still showing the false readings as the high, but the total went to zero).

Yes, only one instance and it happened at precisely 4:00:00 PM PST.

No, I did not reset Access.

The .64" spike in rainfall shows at both Dashboard and WU but the Total Precip graph at each screen shows 0.  (like it never happened or evaporated!!)

Have you had this happen any more? I had 2 more instances the following day (total of 5...all the same .56"), so I simply reset Access. I didn't have any more instances until this morning. And yep...exactly .56" of rain.
