Does the new Access eliminate the need for the Smarthub?

Yes, you would be able to replace your SmartHub model 09150TRX with an Access model 09155M. Just be aware of the 7 device limit on the Access.

"Eliminate" is probably the wrong word.

You can still keep and use your SmartHUB along with the Access, giving you the potential to handle 17 devices.

The Access has more memory and resources to support future devices like the Atlas and the home air quality and noise monitor shown at CES 18.

The SmartHUB will continue to do what it does, but likely won't be updated to support upcoming sensors.

Hello Dave,

We have discontinued the production of the smartHUB. This means that after September 1, 2018 the smartHUB will no longer be able to publish to My AcuRite so yes it will eliminate the smartHUB.
