Abbreviated display reset steps

A shortcut to display reset that may work for you.

my RH and dewpoint readings were stuck.  RH always 99% and dewpoint always matched the outdoor temp.

Acurite suggests resetting both indoor and outdoor units while they are side by side.  Which means one must dismount the outdoor unit which can be a time consuming pain.

So,  I tried resetting just the indoor unit and it seems to have been a successful maneuver.  Pulled the batteries and power for two minutes or so and hit the reset all button which, of course, cleared all the readings, rain accumulation, date, time.  When I restored batteries and power, the problem of stuck RH/dewpoint remained and that's when I posted elsewhere to get clarification of the reset process (which ought to be outlined in the otherwise good users manual).

But half an hour or so later, I looked at the unit again and found the readings had been corrected. Compared the readings with nearby NWS stations and they are a good match.  So, for those in the same position (and I assume this may be true for other model displays), try a half-reset on just the display to save the effort of perhaps climbing on the roof or wherever you have mounted the outdoor sensor.  Wait a bit as I did and if it does not work, then you can do the whole process.

The unit is now in forecast learning mode as if it was new out of the box but that happens with any reset.
