5 in 1 weather station does not register rainfall anymore. My weather station quit registering rainful a couple of months ago. We dont' get much rain here in AZ so I wanted to wait until the next rainful to see if it was just a fluke. I took it apart, cleaned (no spider webs). The buckets tip correctly but do not register any rain.  Tested Batteries and they appear to be OK yet.   All other stats are registering (Temp, Wind, etc)

Hello wpkarp,

Please verify you are using the battery recommendations and try the troubleshooting steps listed below. If you have OPENED the sensor and cleaned the inside and this issue continues, the sensor would need to be replaced.  When and where was this purchased? Thank you.

Batteries:

•Verify you are using fresh alkaline batteries or lithium batteries (when temperature is below -4°F/-20°C) in sensor.

•Quality brand batteries are recommended, including Duracell, Rayovac, Energizer, or Kirkland.

•Verify batteries are fresh. The battery expiration date should be at least 6 years out. Batteries can lose 3% power or more every year in storage.

•Heavy duty, extra strength or generic / store brand batteries are not recommended for use with AcuRite products because they may cause performance irregularities due to the way these types of batteries disperse power. Each battery should not exceed 1.6 volts.

•Rechargeable batteries are not recommended for use with AcuRite products because they may cause performance irregularities due to the voltage instability of these types of batteries.

•Mixing different battery types (brands, old/new, etc.) is not recommended.

Hard reset:

- Bring both units side by side and remove all batteries, unplug display if it has an ac adapter

- Change the ABC Switch to a different setting and ensure that both are on the same setting. example - If on A, move both to C

- Place batteries into the outdoor sensor first

- Place batteries into display

- Allow units to sit side by side until they connect.

I have tested the batteries and they test good.  I also tried  brand new Energizer Lithium batteries and still the rain gauge is not working

I am not sure why I would want to bring the unit in next to the indoor display.  I have the bridge and broadcast to Weather underground and it is broadcasting zero rainfall

I found the invoice.   I actually purchased unit from Amazon. It was delivered on 12/22/2015 and I did not install in until sometime around the week of February 21st of 2016 since we were traveling over the holidays that year.

Hello wpkarp,

To successfully go through the troubleshooting steps you need to have the display and sensor next to each other. Please complete the steps with the 2 products next to each other. Thank you.
