5 in 1 sensor is transmitting, but data is not being updated

My 5 in 1 sensor stopped transmitting yesterday.  I put new batteries in it.  It still didn't transmit. This morning it started again (without any action on my part) The indoor display showed updated weather data, the AcuRite online dashboard showed a signal, but was not updating data.  After an hour of trying to figure out what was going on, now everything seems to be working again.  Any ideas of what was happening? The unit is only 3 months old.

Hi Kevin,

Its possible that your display lost connection to the computer.  You will want to verify that your computer is not going to sleep and that when this happens your AcuRite Connect program is still showing that "Data received okay" with the current date and time stamp.  What version of Windows are you using?

My display is not connected to the computer.  My 5 in 1 talks to the internet via the AcuRite bridge. (or used to, hasn't worked in 3 days now).  I know the bridge is working because my greenhouse sensor still communicates to the internet through it. I'm going to bring the 5 in 1 into the house and place it right next to the bridge and see if it connects.  Seems odd that it would work perfectly for 3 months then suddenly stop. Nothing has changed in my setup.

By the way, when it came back online yesterday, it only continued working for less than an hour.  It isn't talking to the bridge now.

Hi Kevin,

Have you recently changed anything that could be causing the interference such as a home security system, garage door opener or a satellite?  Please also let us know what type and brand of batteries you are using in the outdoor sensor.  Have a great day!

Hi Crystal, I use Duracell Alkaline, expiration date of March 2021.  The original location of my bridge was less than ideal (opposite side of house from the 5 in 1 sensor) in a daylight basement.  The open side of the basement faced the 5 in 1.  The bridge was within a few feet of computers, printers, routers, etc.  While not ideal, it worked reliably for several months. No new home electronics were installed. Finally to fix the problem I purchased a home wiring internet adapter, that allowed me to use a wired internet connection on the side of the home nearest the 5 in 1 sensor.  I now have the bridge about 125-150 ft from the 5 in 1 sensor with nothing between except  a glass window.  I still only show 2 bars on the signal strength indicator, but it has not dropped out.  My greenhouse sensors are about 75 ft away, and through a concrete wall, but they still show just one bar less than full power.

Hi Kevin,

Though you have only 2 signal bars, your bridge will still be updating properly. If you notice at any time, your bridge dropping signal you are going to want to contact AcuRite Customer Support at 877-221-1252.

I will call that number in the morning.  I just received an email saying: "

ATTENTION: Weather Station Owner

The Weather Underground PWS network has detected that your personal weather station (ID #KORWILSO18) has not reported to www.wunderground.com for more than 2 hours."

When I go to https://acu-link.com/dashboard indeed, no data is being transferred.  However, I am getting updated information at https://www.wunderground.com/personal-weather-station/dashboard?ID=KORWILSO18#history.  It would appear that the trouble is on your end, and not mine?

Hi Kevin,

We would recommend  trying to relocate your bridge or trying to move your sensor closer.  If this does not resolve the issue, please contact AcuRite Customer Support at 877-221-1252.  Have a great day!
